Living Arrows 24/52

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran

So this happened on Wednesday night! At exactly 39 weeks our little Elfin Angel decided she was ready to join the Devil Pixie. It may well be wishful thinking but I’m hoping her blog name will turn out to be preemptive…

I thought about sharing a few details about her birth, but I think I’ll probably write a full post at some point so you’ll have to be patient! Suffice to say it was FAST, and couldn’t have been closer to the experience I’d hoped for. I’m very lucky.

As I type (tap actually as I’m on my phone – laptop has not been out since Elfin arrived), I have the tiny one sleeping on my chest and – oh my! I’d forgotten how captivating that new baby smell is!

Oh Kate. That new baby smell and the way their legs are all scrunched up. And the way they stretch and bend backwards almost like a banana! You are such a beautiful family. Enjoy every moment x

Thank you! Yep, nothing beats that intoxicating smell. I keep reminding myself to *really* appreciate it because this time is so fleeting, I know I’ll blink and she’ll be a toddler. If only it could be bottled… x
