What is tastecard?
If you’ve never heard of tastecard then you’re missing out!
So what exactly is tastecard? Well for a start, don’t be tripped up by the name, because the benefits they offer go way beyond eating out!
tastecard is a discount scheme which used to rely on a physical card, but can now simply be downloaded as an app to your phone and offers a variety of excellent discounts and perks for:
- Restaurants
- Cinema tickets
- Days out
- Shopping
- Take aways
The cost for a tastecard can vary depending on current offers.
At the time of writing they are offering a 60 day trial for just £1, or membership for a full year for just £34.99. And when you consider that you can save up to 50% off your food bill when eating out, that deal is a no-brainer!
What Else is tastecard Good For?
Easter is fast approaching, and much as we love some time to relax with mindfulness activities, with a full two weeks at home with the kids, arranging one or two days out is mandatory.
Of course this can soon become pricey, and that’s why I’m loving tastecard as I begin to make plans for the break.
Days Out
The deals available with tastecard are dynamic, so it’s always worth having a look to see whether current offers have been updated with any new and exciting attractions.
Booking tickets using your tastecard is super easy.

- 50% off at iFLY (I’ve done this recently and it’s awesome!)
- 57% off at LEGOLAND

To bag your cinema tickets, go to the cinema you want to visit on your tastecard app and purchase e-codes which can either be redeemed online or exchanged for tickets when you arrive at the cinema.
Tips For Eating Out With tastecard
You can make fantastic savings at some of your favourite restaurants!
As I mentioned, the offers available are very good, but there are one or two things to be aware of so you’re not disappointed.
- Be aware that each restaurant has its own tastecard policy.
- As a rule, expect that you will not be able to use tastecard with any other promotion.
- tastecard can usually be used Sunday to Thursday, and in some venues on a Friday during the day.
- Bank holidays and special occasions are usually exempt.
- You may be required to book ahead depending on the restaurant.
- Some restaurant locations may be excluded.
- Generally, the 2 for 1 offer applies to starters, mains, and desserts.
If you know what to expect in advance and plan accordingly, you can make fantastic savings at some of your favourite restaurants!
